Reading a recent article, I came across the usage of the word NUMB and I thought--what an interesting descriptive word. The adjective to be numb is "to be deprived from the power of sensation" while the word numb as a verb is "to deprive of feeling or responsiveness".

We often share or post a lot about our feelings and I'm curious if all of this information is making us numb. We are numb to feelings, violence, our environment, the incessant arguing that is occurring in the media and in our communities. Everyone is focused on being RIGHT that we don't care anymore- hence we are NUMB. Deprived of the power of sensation or feeling of responsiveness.

Numbness occurs after a large insult- physically mentally, emotionally. What can be done to release this feeling of numbness? I'm not sure, but we must begin to create a shift on the positive side. Start with small things , be mindful of our environment, take a walk in nature

( without a phone). listen to birds chirp, watch a butterfly glide through the air. Start with gratitude- just for today.
